Go Ahead.....Call Me Crazy

I must be crazy. In fact I know I am crazy! I am participating in a SAL on Facebook and the design size is 447 wide by 728 tall!! If that isn't crazy enough it is being stitched over one! The only part of this project that isn't crazy is I am stitching it on 22 count Aida cloth. My kids bought me Aida cloth for Christmas so I figured I would put it to use. Oh, and it is a mystery SAL, too, so I have no idea what it is other than what the title of the project is.....The Moon SAL from Xstitch Cross Stitch Patterns. Go ahead and tell me I am one crazy lady! LOL

I did manage to have one last finish before 2010. :) I finished Mike's stocking. Mine All Mine is done! Whoo-hoo!! No more stockings for me until next Christmas. :)

Looking back over my 2009 finishes I was surprised at how much I got done with a baby around the house. I had 19 finishes that I finished and 6 finishes that I haven't finished for a grand total of 25 stitching finishes. Not too bad. :)

Happy New Year to everyone!!

No Stocking This Year

I had really hoped to have this stocking done this year but it looks like that is not going to happen this year. I can't say it isn't because I haven't had time to stitch it because in reality I could have had it done. I can blame it all on not having any mojo for this design anymore. However, one of my New Year's resolutions is to get this one finished ASAP....mainly just to get it out of my hair! So it looks like I will be stitching on this one for the rest of the year or at least till New Year's Day.

On New Year's Day I plan to start a new piece. :) I am planning on starting Home of a Needleworker from LHN. I can't wait to start it! What is your New Year's new start?

Have a great night!

A Soccer Mom

I meant to get this posted yesterday but I didn't get a chance to which also means I didn't get a chance to do any stitching either. :(

Remember about a month ago I said I was done with sports practice until Spring. HA! I was wrong! Krissy and Allie decided to go out for soccer. While the season doesn't officially start until March they are in the "conditioning" season which means twice a week they meet for workouts/practice. I guess it is official.....I am a soccer mom now. Oh, and if that isn't enough to keep me running around Krissy has gotten her first real job. She will be bagging groceries at a local grocery store after school in the evenings.

I'm off to try and get a little stitching in tonight. :)

Have a great weekend everyone!

A Gift for Megan

Wow 2 posts in one day! I am starting to get a little scared of myself! lol Yesterday Megan received a wonderful package from Michelle. Michelle sent her this gorgeous pink sweater! I know she was concerned if the sweater would fit or not but I was pleased to tell her that if fits perfectly. :) I know Megan loves it because when I tried to take it off of her she started crying and as soon as I put it back on her she stopped and started smiling. I do believe that Megan is going to be a girly girl....which is fine with me as the other 2 girls were complete tomboys until they hit their teens. :)

Thank you so much Michelle!!!

After our little photo shoot today Megan was nice enough to take and extra long nap and let me stitch peacefully until the kids started rolling in from school. I was able to stitch a couple of the presents. If I can keep getting in the same amount of stitching in every day I would be done with the stocking within a week. Notice I said if .....I am not holding my breath on that one but it would be nice to have this one finished so I could move onto something different.

Have a great evening!!

A Stitching Update

I hope nobody has a heart attack but I actually have a stitching update! Saturday and Sunday I had my own SAT. :) I would have rather been at the hospital with my mom but Friday I started not feeling well so I had to stay away from the hospital. As you can see I am just about to the halfway point on Mine All Mine. Yay! However, due my non stop stitching I ran out of DMC 922 which just happens to be one of the main colors. Darn it....now that means a trip to Hobby Lobby. :)

My mom was released from the hospital on Sunday and is quite happy to be home in her own bed! I can't say I blame her those beds are never comfortable.

Have a great day!

No More Softball

Softball season is officially over! No more games or practices to go to! :) Actually, it is a little sad as I enjoyed watching the games but I am not going to miss the cold weather and cold bleachers. I still think it is crazy to play softball in the fall. In the good old days (you know when I was a teenager...lol) we played in the summer and never had to worry about it being cold.

Hopefully, now that I will have a little more free time (at least till spring) I am hoping to get more stitching done. I finally started on Mike's stocking this week. I'm not sure if I will post picture of this one since I have done it twice already. However, my plan is to work on Mine All Mine for a day or two and then switch to QS Fairy Tales for a day or two. That is my plan, now, if I actually stick to it, that remains to be seen. LOL

A Productive Day

First of all, I want to thank everyone for their kind comments on my last post. I am feeling much better today. :)

One of the benefits of moving back here is....garage sales!! I love them! My Mom and I were shopping today when we saw a garage sale and neither one of us could pass it by. It was a good thing we didn't because I found several (I think a total of 5) unused frames. All of them cost me a whole two dollars.:) We also found a nice comforter, 2 shirts for Mac, a shirt for Krissy, a hooded sweatshirt for Allie, a computer game for Mike, and 2 big dolls for Megan. All of the items(including the frames) cost a grand total of $8.50! Gotta love that savings! :)

With my new acquired frames I happily dove into my WTF pile to see what I could frame. Here are my results from this afternoon.:)

More Finishes

I stitched this small fob up quickly. I have stitched this one many times.....it's just so fun and quick to do.:) I whip stitched the fob together but instead of using poly-fill to fill it I used some rice. The rice gave it just enough weight so now when I lay it on an arm of a chair it doesn't fall off. I wouldn't use rice to fill a larger fob as it probably would be too much weight .

As we all know, I have a weakness for dragons especially cute ones which means I couldn't resist this cute guy.

Krissy and Mac started their new schools today. Mac seems to like his class and all Krissy could say was there was only 3 cute boys in the whole entire school but she did say it wasn't as bad as she thought it would be. I give her a week and I bet there are more than just 3 cute guys in the school!
Today Megan turned 6 months old! I swear it was just a few days ago we brought her home. In those 6 months she has grown over 9 inches and gained 12 pounds. We were extremely blessed because she hasn't had any problems arise from being born so early. I wanted to post a picture of her today but she still wasn't feeling the best and wasn't being very photogenic today. She isn't running a fever but she is being clingy. If you have to walk away from her she gets upset and starts crying which in turn causes her to throw up. Nice chain reaction.
As you probably guessed no stitching for me today but I did pull out my stitching notebook and make a list of goodies I need to see if I can find at the LNS. I am hoping to be able to venture out that way sometime tomorrow. I'm not going to hold my breath because I might just decide to stay indoors and stitch instead. :)
Have a great weekend & Happy Stitching to All!

I've Been Stitching

I hope everyone had a nice weekend. Friday night I decided since I couldn't work on MAM I would work on Topaz Fairie instead.:) I finished one of her four wings. I am still missing one Kreinik and the beads but I will work on what I can. As for her wings, I have to say I am not impressed with the colors. I think they are blah looking.

Saturday I did get my flosses needed for Mine All Mine but after talking with Renee, we decided that it would work better this week for us to work on Summer's Magic on Saturday. After I put that away I pulled out Mine All Mine and worked on it for a little bit that night.

I was hoping to finish MAM on Sunday but I just couldn't get motivate to stitch. So today, I decided I was not going to put Mine All Mine down until it was finished. Which I am happy to say I did finish this afternoon.:) Mac is thrilled that I am done and is ready to go fabric hunting!

I was a little unhappy to see some of the red color bled on the fabric. I put a little bit of Shout on it and hopefully it will come out. If not, Mac is still happy with it and that is all that matters.:)

Jenn asked who I will be stitching the next stocking for and it will be for one of the babies. I actually have both of their stocking picked out to stitch. I won't be stitching identical ones for them but the pattern themes are similar.

Happy Stitching!

Almost Done

I have been working on Mine All Mine when I haven't been sleeping. I can't believe how tired I am even on bed rest! Anyways, I have worked on MAM I can at least until tomorrow when Mike and Allie make a floss run for me. I am hoping to be able to finish him this weekend.:)

The next stocking I will start is called Winter Fun on Ice by Linda Gillum.

I hope everyone has a great weekend!

Weekend Progress

With Mike having a 3 day weekend that meant I could close my bedroom door and ignore the world.:) On Friday and Saturday I worked on Mine All Mine. I ran out of a couple of more colors but I am working around them right now. Mac is so excited that I am almost done with the stitching.:)

Sunday I worked on Baby B's quilt. It is "this close" to being finished. I ran out of the satin binding I am using on the edges so I am only one side away from finishing it. After I put the quilt away, I picked up Summer's Magic. I only stitched on it for about 90 minutes but progress is progress!:)

Have a great day!

Mine All Mine Update

Finally, a progress picture of Mine All Mine! I ran out of DMC 400 so there are a few blank areas that still need to be stitched.

We don't have any big plans for this holiday weekend. Mike and the kids will probably light off some fireworks while I wait inside with the first aid kit. Krissy has a babysitting job for tomorrow and Saturday so she will be happy earning some extra money.

Last night Mike got to feel the babies kick for the first time. :) I can already see individual personalities emerging. Baby A (top baby and the higher heartbeat!) is definitely the mover of the two! Baby B (bottom baby) seems to be the calmer of the two so far. As far as names for the girls, we still haven't agreed on anything...yet. LOL It is hard coming up with one name let alone 2 names!

Have a great evening!

Cathy asked me why the doctor didn't suspect twins before the ultrasound. Actually, I asked this very question, too!! I was told since I had no history of twins, my weight gain had been minimal, and my fundal height wasn't large that when they found one heartbeat that they basically ASSumed that there was only one baby. In a way, I am glad that I found out later in my pregnancy because the doctor would have put me on bed rest right away after finding out about twins. As for the length of my cervix, I am still waiting to hear the results. When I asked about it he couldn't find the report in my file so I may end up having to go back for another ultrasound. These little mishaps are a part of why I am switching doctors.

As for stitching, I am still working on Mine All Mine. I almost have the dragon's head finished. Sorry for the lack of progress pictures on this piece but I can't iron my pieces from bed. :(

Have a great day!

Monday, June 30, 2008

It's amazing I have been on bed rest for a week and I am still busy! I had another check up today and everything looks great. I gained one pound this week! Yay! That is a grand total of 4 pounds. :( The babies heartbeats were nice and strong. (145 and 160) Since there isn't any problems my next appoinment will be in 2 weeks. However, after that appointment, I will be seeing a new doctor. Dr. H has more experience with twins and and dealing with any complications.

Meanwhile I have been working on the second quilt. I got all the squares cut out, sewn together, and I was ready to add the border. For the border and backing I was going to use pink gingham but when I was at my local wal mart I discovered that they are remodeling the store. To my horror they didn't have any fabric! After I went home and pouted about it, I decided I had enough of the ABC print leftover to use instead of the pink gingham. So now it is all pinned together ready for me to sew.

You might be wondering how do I sew from bed. Well, my sewing machine actually sits on a stand that is the perfect height to move right next to bed. I can't sew for long periods as I tend to hunch over and I am big enough now that my belly gets in the way of some things.

I did manage to work on Mine All Mine last night. That was the first time since the ultrasound I actually picked a needle up! I hope it will be a quiet evening so I can work on him so more tonight. :)

Have a great night everyone!!

Saturday, June 21, 2008

I had a wonderful surprise waiting for me in the mail yesterday. :) Carol sent this super adorable fob as a PIF gift. I simply love it! Thank you, Carol!!

I'm sorry for the lack of posts lately. It isn't because I have been super busy or anything. I have just been feeling blah and have no ambition to do anything. Which doesn't help getting the housework and laundry done!
I did have a check up this week for the little one on Thursday. I know as a general rule doctor offices are cold but this one was freezing cold. It was so cold when they pricked my finger for some blood, my blood would not drip out of my finger! So their immediate concern was if I had gestational diabetes. I tried to explain to them I was freezing cold and we all know cold blood doesn't flow so well. Anyways, they made me drink that NASTY orange drink for a glucose test. An hour later, they prick my finger again (I am still freezing!) and still my blood doesn't want to come out but they eventually got enough to do a reading. I was right. No gestational diabetes.
Tuesday morning I do have to have an ultrasound done. Whoo-hoo....we finally get to learn (hopefully!) the sex of the little one.:) The kids are excited and all three of them have asked if they can come to the ultrasound. That made me really happy!
As for stitching, I have been working on Mine All Mine. I am making good progress but I still have quite a bit to stitch on it.
Enjoy your weekend!

Mine All Mine...Again

First of all, I want to thank everyone for their wonderful comments on finishing Egyptian Sampler. Thank You!!! Right now I don't have plans to get it framed right away. It will get to reside with my other pieces waiting to be framed.

I did go stash diving and I finally decided that I would start Mac's Christmas stocking. The pattern is called Mine All Mine by X's and Oh's. I stitched this one last year for my step dad so hopefully this one will stitch up quickly. Mac is quite excited about me starting on it. He keeps checking with me to find out if I have made any progress. LOL....no pressure there!

Have a great night!

Gift for Kendra

I hope everyone is having a great weekend! Mine has been okay. I spent most of the morning and afternoon yesterday driving kids to friends houses and picking them up. They wanted to keep going into the evening but I put my foot down and said I wasn't driving any more!

I have been working on my stocking and I have finished the snowman!:) All I have left to finish is the "friends" and my name at the top! Eventually I will sew this one into a stocking but right now I don't have any material I like for it so it will get put it the WTF pile. The next stocking to be stitched will be Mac's. He still wants the dragon I did for my step dad so I will be working on Mine All Mine by X's and Oh's next. My step dad may not be his blood grandfather but I am telling you those two are so much alike in personalities that sometimes it is down right scary!

Today is my normal day to SAL with Renee but since we are both waiting on our Kreiniks we decided to go ahead and skip another week. I will probably continue working on Snowman and Friends today.

Also before I go, Kendra let me know last evening that her blogoversary gift arrived. I stitched a biscornu freebie (I'm too lazy to find the link right now) on 32 count opalescent linen. I found these adorable tassels and decided to add them to the biscornu. Those tassels gave me a little problem but in the end I won. I had a hard time parting with this one but I knew Kendra would give it a good home.:)

Enjoy your Sunday!

Future WIP's

This week was a pretty slow stitching week for me. After I finished Purrrfect Partners I lost my stitching mojo! I made a small run to my LNS this week and picked up some more linen and a spool of the glow in dark Kreinik threads that is needed for Harvest Witch. I have been dying to know if the the threads do glow in the dark and they do! :) I can't wait to see Harvest Witch all finished in the dark now! LOL

Since I couldn't get interested in stitching this week I dug through my stash and kitted some patterns up. So far here is what I kitted up this week:

1. A Child's Prayer-Calico Crossroads
2. Fairy Roses-Mirabilia
3. Snowman & Friends-Kooler Design
4. Mine All Mine (Mac)-X's and Oh's
5. Summer's Magic-Dragon Dreams (SAL w/Renee)
6. Tour des Marques-The Silver Lining (I blame this one on you, Dani! LOL )

Becky K. asked me a few days ago what breeds of dogs I have. I have to admit I have been shy on saying that Gracie is a Pit Bull Terrier because I do not want the controversy on if they are good dogs or bad dogs. I will say I am a firm believer that dogs are just like humans, they are born good but due to bad circumstances can turn bad. I know Gracie will be a wonderful pet as all of us spoil her with love.

Girly is part Black Lab and part Rat Terrier. I like to call her my Miniature Lab. :) She looks just like a lab except she is only 13 inches from her shoulder to the floor. For a dog with short legs she can move pretty fast when you show her a Frisbee!

Have a great weekend!

Dragon Stocking

I was in a finishing mood yesterday so I finished the other two stockings. Here is Mine All Mine for my step dad.

We have had some beautiful fall like mornings the past few days. It has been nice and cool in the mornings when we take Girly outside. She loves to run around in the yard when it has dew on it. Mac is getting excited about the leaves falling. We always rake the leaves into a huge pile and let the kids play in it. Our puppy dog loves to chase the kids into the pile, too. By the end of the day everyone is sneezing and rubbing their eyes but we keep doing it every year! LOL
I hope everybody is enjoying their day!

Mine All Mine Finished!!

I finished him tonight! Whoo-hoo! I think he is ornery looking which suits my step dad perfectly..lol.
