A Little Stitching

I want to thank everyone for their wonderful comments on Megan. :) My stitching time has been severely limited lately. Now I remember why I didn't get a lot accomplished stitching wise when Krissy, Allie, and Mac were little! LOL

I finally added Megan's name to her stocking.

Last month I did finally put in the final stitches on for Topaz Fairie, now I just have to get to the beading!
I have been in the mood for making Christmas ornies....

Last but not least, I did manage to finish Megan's birth sampler. :)

I know lately all I seem to be talking about is Megan but the other kids are keeping me just as busy as she is! The main thing right now is Mac goes in on Nov 18 for his next ear surgery. This time they will be working on both of his ears. :( Dr. L is putting an implant is his left ear so hopefully his hearing will improve. Mac is still having problems at school because of his hearing and it seems like his teachers don't want to acknowledge it. They tell me that he shows no signs of hearing loss but when I take him in for a hearing exam it shows that he can't hear a lot of things. Grrrr!! Mac seems to be looking forward to the surgery this time. I think it is only because he knows he gets out of school for 5-7 days.
I hate making these posts short and quick but that is all that Megan will allow me to do. :)
Have a great day!!

2 WIPS Finished

Oh I have so much to share today! First of all let's get the stitching pictures out of the way. :) As you remember I was working on the Little One's stocking and I finished it all but the name.

I just LOVE how it turned out! I am sure it will even look better once we have a name for the top of the stocking. LOL

Here is the other beauty I finished. :)

I have to confess the magnolia flowers are simply stunning to me.

We Are Fine

I hope everyone is doing fine! I want to thank everyone for their concerns on me being absent. I am doing just fine or the best I can at 32 1/2 weeks pregnant! LOL As for the pregnancy everything seems to be going fine. The little one is still measuring small for her age but the doctor thinks that it is just genetics. As of last week, Dr. H guesstimates that she weighs close to 4 pounds. I don't think she is quite that big but I would be thrilled if she is. I am now seeing Dr. H once a week until she is born. It is hard to believe that in a little over 5 weeks she will be here! I am so excited to meet her!

As for stitching, I have actually gotten a lot accomplished the past few weeks! I have finished Winter Fun on Ice stocking (all but the name) AND last night I finished Unicorn! I officially only have one WIP left to finish...Topaz Fairie. I have been working on what I can on her wings but that won't last much longer. I guess that means a new start for me in the next few days. :)

I'm sorry this is such a short post but I wanted to let everyone know the Little One and I are doing just fine. We are just taking it easy till the big day. :)

Happy Stitching to all!

Getting Closer

Here's today's progress on the little one's stocking. :) I am about 2/3 done with it!

I just want to let everyone know that I might not be posting much over the next couple of days. There isn't anything wrong just some things that require my attention more than blogging right now.

Until next time....Happy stitching!

Winter Fun On Ice

I had another good check up with Dr. H yesterday. I even put 2 pounds on this time. Yay! The worst of the visit was having some blood drawn. I have to have my blood checked for clotting problems at every visit. I go back in 2 weeks for another check up and an ultrasound to measure the little one's growth/weight. After that I will be seeing the doctor every week until the little one arrives.

With a good report from Dr. H yesterday I was happy to work on the little one's stocking. I'm going to wait until the little one actually gets here before I add her name to the stocking.

Happy Stitching!

Little Stitching

I don't have much to show from the past few days, mainly because I haven't felt the best. I have been working on Winter Fun on Ice here and there when I have felt up to it.

As you know yesterday I had an appointment with a specialist and it went great. First of all, when I was referred to see Dr. T I had a sneaky suspicion that he was the same doctor that I saw with Mac's pregnancy. I wasn't exactly positive since the doctor that we saw with Mac was in Springfield, Missouri and this one was in Joplin, Missouri. You can not imagine how relieved I was to find out today that it was him. Basically, I knew he wouldn't try and hide anything from me. He is a honest doctor but not in a way that makes you feel bad.

At first, it was a nurse who did the scan but then Dr. T came in and finished it up and got all the information he needed. I was quite relieved to see the little one moving around and sucking on her fingers. :) So cute! As of today she weighs about 1 pound 12 ounces and 157 beats per minute. She is doing great! No signs of fetal distress or growth problems. :D

Tomorrow I have another doctor's appointment with Dr. H. This appointment should be a routine check up. I have to drink that nasty glucose drink (again) and have my blood tested for gestational diabetes. Dr. H said he would be shocked if I turned out to be since I have only gained a total of 8 pounds so far.

Yesterday was also the kids first day back to school. I didn't even have to wake any of them up to get ready.....even Mac! I still can't believe that it was Krissy's first day of high school (grade 9). I swear just yesterday it was her first day of kindergarten! She lucked out and gets to attend a brand new high school here so she is just as lost in finding her classes as the older kids. :) Allie is in junior high (grade 8) this year but she also is going to a different school so she got lost a couple of times. Mac (grade 5) is the only one who is back at the same school this year so he had no problems at all.

Since the kids are back in school that might mean I can actually get some quality stitching time to myself. :)

Happy Stitching!

Well, this week has definately been a rollar coaster ride I wish to never ride again! I have been keeping my hands busy with working on Winter Fun on Ice.

I hope everyone has a wonderful weekend!

Hot Weather

I hope the weather has been cooler for you than it has been here this weekend. It has been yucky hot to the point even the dog doesn't want to go out and play. Now, that is bad! LOL

Anyways, with it being hot the kids and I just hung out around the house this weekend. I worked on Winter Chair for a bit on Saturday but then Winter Fun on Ice started calling me so I ended up working on it. :)

Today was Summer's Magic SAL with Renee and I am happy to say the baby dragon now has a head. :)

Tomorrow I have an appointment for an ultrasound. It is just to make sure the babies are growing fine. I am hoping this time the girls are cooperative and we can get some good pictures of them. At the last ultrasound they were kicking each other so much that the pictures didn't turn out very well. I just hope they aren't giving me a glimpse of what they have in store for me when they arrive! :)

Have a great night!

Almost Done

I have been working on Mine All Mine when I haven't been sleeping. I can't believe how tired I am even on bed rest! Anyways, I have worked on MAM I can at least until tomorrow when Mike and Allie make a floss run for me. I am hoping to be able to finish him this weekend.:)

I hope everyone has a great weekend!

Snowman Finished!

I was determined to finish Snowman and Friends last night. Of course, this kind of determination always works best if you don't have someone interrupting you every 5 seconds.

I have to admit this happy dance feels great! :)

Trees and Water

For once I remembered to bring my camera with me when we went to town. I managed to take a couple of scenery pictures on the back road to town. This first one is of a tree that was washed out. I am not sure if this fell recently due to all the rain or not. I had to zoom in to get a good picture of it.

This next one is of the same tree except with no zoom. See how big that tree really is!!

This last one is a pretty waterfall on the same road.

Other than that small venture we didn't do a lot yesterday. Mike mowed the yard while I stitched on Snowman and Friends. He is so close to being finished! :)

I'm sorry for such a quick post but I have an appointment in just a little over an hour and I have to get my butt in gear!

Have a wonderful day:)

Gift for Kendra

I hope everyone is having a great weekend! Mine has been okay. I spent most of the morning and afternoon yesterday driving kids to friends houses and picking them up. They wanted to keep going into the evening but I put my foot down and said I wasn't driving any more!

I have been working on my stocking and I have finished the snowman!:) All I have left to finish is the "friends" and my name at the top! Eventually I will sew this one into a stocking but right now I don't have any material I like for it so it will get put it the WTF pile. The next stocking to be stitched will be Mac's. He still wants the dragon I did for my step dad so I will be working on Mine All Mine by X's and Oh's next. My step dad may not be his blood grandfather but I am telling you those two are so much alike in personalities that sometimes it is down right scary!

Today is my normal day to SAL with Renee but since we are both waiting on our Kreiniks we decided to go ahead and skip another week. I will probably continue working on Snowman and Friends today.

Also before I go, Kendra let me know last evening that her blogoversary gift arrived. I stitched a biscornu freebie (I'm too lazy to find the link right now) on 32 count opalescent linen. I found these adorable tassels and decided to add them to the biscornu. Those tassels gave me a little problem but in the end I won. I had a hard time parting with this one but I knew Kendra would give it a good home.:)

Enjoy your Sunday!

This and That

I will admit I was just too lazy last night to post a progress picture of Snowman and Friends. It is kind of hard to see the progress since I stitched the white part of the snowman. I was stitching the blue areas until I ran out of floss. :(

I am not sure exactly what I am going to work on today. I was thinking about a new start but I will need Kreiniks for it and, of course, I don't have them in my stash. The pattern is out The Cross Stitcher from June 1993 and designed by Mary Bartley Stockett. It is a unicorn standing on his hind legs in a magnolia flower. Magnolia flowers are my favorite flower.:)

I just wanted to let everyone know that Mama cat and baby are doing great. Mama cat seems to be adjusting to her new home quite fast. She is definitely going to be the "pack leader" here! She does not hesitate to put Gracie in her place when she gets a little too excited around her and doesn't back down. The baby is also doing great. She is a ball of fire! She is the learning how to pounce and it is so cute....sometimes..lol.

Have a wonderful day!

Easy Stitching

I have been getting some good stitching done the past few days but it isn't really by choice. The morning sickness has arrived in full force. This being said I am sticking close to the house because I am not fond of public restrooms and to be honest I don't want to have to puke in one!

I was attempting to work on Tour today when a round of morning sickness hit and sadly I had to put it away because of the headache that snuck up on me so I went and took a 2 hour nap. My head didn't hurt as bad when I woke up but there was still that occasional pounding to remind me that it was there so I figured I would work on something easy. Snowman and Friends falls right into that category!

The house is quiet and I think I am going to take advantage of it and work on Snowman some more tonight. :)

Happy Stitching!

Half of a Snowman

I am halfway done with my stocking as of tonight. :) I stitched the hat and the 2 birds. I think I am at a good point to put this one aside and work on Egyptian Sampler tomorrow.

Enjoy your evening!

Tuesday, April 08, 2008

I did it! I finally worked on Tour again.:) My longest WIP was 2 years...I bet this one beats that! LOL
I forgot to post a picture of my progress on Snowman and Friends from the last time I worked on it. If I get to stitch some tonight I will be working on this one.:)

The other night I stripped the nut on my 5" hoop so that called for a small trip to Hobby Lobby. While I was there I found this adorable pattern by Jeanette Crew Designs called Woodland Fairies. I love the one on the left with the hedgehog.:) I also discovered that their DMC Variations were on sale for $0.79 (regularly $1.29) so I picked up a few in my favorite colors.

Happy Stitching!

SBQ's and Shopping

This week's SBQ is recycled from January 4, 2005 and is:

After you stitch a pattern or kit, what do you do with it?

I am a pack rat when it comes to my crafts! I generally keep every single pattern I stitch with the exception of some I have passed on to friends.

This week's SBQ is:

When you stitch a pattern that you have downloaded do you print out the pattern or do you stitch directly from your computer screen?

I always print out my patterns to work from. I have to start in the center of a design (large or small!) so I have to mark on my pattern where I start from. I have tried to stitch from the computer screen and it has worked out okay but I am much more comfortable using a printed out sheet.

I was really, really hoping to be able to work on Topaz Fairie but that is just not meant to be this week. I stopped by my LNS to see if my Kreinik order had arrived. It did BUT (there is always a but) the owner had sold it to another lady earlier in the day. I was a little irritated as I didn't just order 1 or 2 spools...I ordered 12 spools!! grrr

So, I decided to bury my head in my stitching.:) I just love this piece!

I will probably work on this one some more today after I get the morning errands done. I have to go shirt shopping for Mac. After his surgery on Friday he has to wear button up shirts until his incision is healed. This ought to be interesting since Mac is a T-shirt kind of boy.

Have a great day!

Thank you!

I want to thank each and everyone who left me comments on Bitsy yesterday. This whole situation was quite upsetting because Bitsy wasn't sick. She snuck outside and was attacked by another animal. Unfortunately, her injuries were to severe for her to make it. This whole ordeal has me upset because I should have been a better pet owner and not let her go outside.

Here are is my progress from this weekend on Harvest Witch.

Here is my progress on Snowman and Friends.

I tried to work on Tour last night but the colors are too dark and drab for me right now.

Snowman Start

I think it is safe to say that Spring is here. About 7 o'clock last night we had some very nasty weather. We got it all! Rain, wind, and hail.

Here is my progress on Snowman and Friends by Linda Gillum. I have a feeling I am going to love stitching this one! This stocking is going to be mine when finished. I was looking at the other patterns in the book and I found one called Winter Fun on Ice by Linda Gillum that I think I might do for the baby.

Have a great weekend!
