Let it Snow

Megan is napping so I was able to take a picture of the ornament I just finished. Now it gets to join the other 6 ornaments waiting to be finished. Which reminds me I really need to make a DMC run so I can get busy and finish all of them!

SAL Progress

It's amazing but somehow I managed to find some stitching time the past few days! I finished the ornament I started but I haven't been able to get a good picture of it. Hopefully when Megan lays down for her afternoon nap I can get a good picture taken.

I even found time yesterday to work on the SAL with Renee. :) All I have left to stitch is one more ghost and 2 stars.....all Kreiniks. Actually, I haven't had too much of a problem stitching with Kreiniks in this design.

I'm not sure what I will attempt to work on today. Right now I am leaning towards Moonlight's Visit but I am also thinking about starting another ornament.

Happy Stitching

Zoo Pictures

Today we took the kids to the zoo for the day. We had a great time and by the end of the day all of us were worn out from walking except for Megan who slept through half of it. We were there for 6 hours and still didn't see everything. Best part of it was no one got sunburned....even me! Between Allie and me, we went picture crazy. Here are a few of my favorite pictures I took today. :)

The aquarium was one of the must see requests from the kids. I love how this picture of the jellyfish turned out.

Now this is my idea of a pretty kitty!

If you look close enough at this guy he is actually sticking his tongue out at me! I guess he didn't want his picture taken today.

Here is another cutie.

I had one goal in mind for this little adventure and that was to get one picture of my 4 babies all together. I should have been specific because Megan just would not look at the camera!

Since we were gone for a good part of the day that means I didn't get to any stitching today. I am hoping (fingers and toes crossed) that I will get some to stitch on something tomorrow.
I hope you are having a great weekend!

It's Finally Friday!

I am so glad it is the weekend!! School hasn't even started back officially yet but already I am running around to school activities. Krissy has had softball camp this week which means I have to be up, dressed, awake, and sociable by 8 AM. I am not a morning person so it's not exactly a simple thing for me to accomplish but I managed to not kill anyone.:) We will see if next week goes as well!

As for stitching, I haven't gotten much done. I started another ornament from a JCS Ornament Issue but all I have gotten done is the borders for the front and back squares. Other than that I haven't stitched on anything else. :(

Tomorrow we are taking the kids to the zoo. I am excited to see Megan's reactions to all the different animals. The older three kids are just as excited about going tomorrow. I just hope it isn't too hot. My main goal is to get one picture (at least!) with all four kids in it. It sounds like a fairly easy thing to accomplish but believe me it is not!

I want to thank everyone for their comments lately. I have been a horrible blogger and I haven't been commenting lately on other blogs. I just haven't had the "blogging mojo" lately. I really hope to get out of that funk really soon!

I hope everyone has a great weekend!

A Couple of Finishes

I'm sorry for the lack of posts lately but every time I sit down to blog my mind goes blank. Main reason for that is right now it seems like my cross stitching is non existent. I did have a small finish last week.

I had planned on having a finishing weekend but we were busier than I thought so I only ended up finishing one ornament. I still have 7 more to go to finish into ornaments! I finished the stitching on this one last year sometime.

Stange Moment

Okay this is seriously strange for me.....I have Zero (none, zip, nada) children around me as I type this post up! Krissy is at SIL's house until Friday, Mac is currently next door at his friend's house playing, Allie decided she wanted to take Megan for a walk so that leaves me childless right now. :)

Monday was my SAL with Renee and I managed to stitch for exactly one hour. :)

Tuesday I started working on another ornament. I completed the borders but that is as far as I have gotten. I should be able to stitch on it for a bit tonight after Megan goes to sleep.

Have a great day!

HAED Stitching

I have been quiet the past few days because I have been working on QS Fairy Tales again. That tends to happen when I am working on this one!

Before

After

I am hoping to get some stitching done on Too Cute to Spook tonight. That is why I am being lazy and making cheeseburgers and tater tots for dinner. :) Which is what I am headed off to do so I hope everyone has a nice evening!

A Moon in Moonlight

Shhh!!! Don't tell anyone but I am sitting still for at least 5 minutes! In between doing the grocery shopping, housework, playing taxi cab driver for the older kids, and cooking dinner I have not sat still for more than 5 minutes. The icing on the cake for the day was Megan was a fuss bucket all day because she would not take a nap for more than 15 minutes.

This had a direct impact on my stitching today. There was none. :( I did work on Moonlight's visit last evening for a bit.

Maybe, hopefully, keep your fingers crossed, I will be able to work on my HAED tomorrow!

Goodluck Baby Finished

I know it is hard to believe but the kiddos actually let me get in some productive stitching yesterday. :) I decided to not stitch the flowers and grass around the baby so I had to improvise a little bit on the legs but it turned out okay in the end. There was also the back stitching to do. I have a love/hate relationship with back stitching. I love the effect but I hate to do it! In this design a couple of different colors for the back stitching which normally isn't all that bad but when stitching over one it tends to be in a huge pain the rear.

I took this cute picture of my speed demon this morning. It looks like she is doing stretches getting ready to run. Is this a sign of what Megan has in store for me?!

Have a great day!

2 Firsts in One Day

I didn't get to do much stitching yesterday as I was busy all day. In the morning I had to take my mom in for some test on her heart. While I was waiting I worked on Moonlight's Visit.

I thought I was going to be able to work on my SAL with Renee in the afternoon but Megan had completely different plans for me. She learned how to use her knees and hands to crawl! She is quite wobbly at it still but I know she will be a master at that soon. She wore herself out crawling so I laid her down in her crib for a nap and to my shock when she woke up she had pulled herself into a standing position holding on to the side of the crib! Her pulling herself up wasn't just a fluke yesterday because this morning she pulled herself to standing with the help of the couch. I am not ready for her to be crawling let alone walking!

I am a little late in getting my goals for the month posted but better late than never. :)

June Goals:

1. Stitch on QS Fairy Tales-Yes!
2. Stitch/Finish Ornament-Yes!/No-Stitched one yes but didn't get it finished yet.
3. Work on Too Cute SAL-Yes!
4. Stitch/Finish Bumble Fairy-Yes! Finished the stitching but she is currently residing in my WTF pile.

July Goals:

1. Work on QS Fairy Tales.
2. Continue SAL with Renee. (Too Cute to Spook)
3. Work on Moonlight's Visit.
4. Stitch/Finish Ornament.
5. Start on Mike's Christmas stocking.

Happy Stitching!

Weekend Progress

I hope everyone had a great weekend. We had a semi lazy weekend. :) We did venture out to watch some fireworks last night but other than that all of us were pretty lazy. I think the kids were mostly lazy because they wore themselves out at my brother's house. I didn't object to the family not wanting to do much because that meant I could stitch my heart out.

I worked some more on Moonlight's Visit. This is the kind of progress I like to see.:)

Well I am off to make some more progress on Moonlight's Visit!

Have a great night!

Look...Stitching!

It was an extremely quiet day around here today. Allie and Mac went to my brother's house for a couple of days so that just leaves Krissy and Megan at home with me during the day. Quiet days always means I can get some stitching done! Which is exactly what I did today. :)

Megan has been somewhat of a handful lately. The update on her crawling is she is up on all fours and rocking but hasn't taken that first attempt at actually moving on her hands and knees. Now as for scooting, she has mastered that skill! Which brings me to a questions.....Why do little kids find the pet food and water irresistible?! I can't count how many times I have caught Megan reaching for a piece of dog food or trying to dump the water bowl over herself.

I have been able to brag what a great baby Megan was and how she never cried. That has been changing. She has discovered how to voice her likes and dislikes. Mainly just her dislikes and believe me when she doesn't like something, she really doesn't like something! The past day and half her dislike has been her formula. I have no clue why either. I can get her to eat her cereal mixed with formula but to give her straight formula, well that just isn't happening. Instead she wants ice water. My first thought was she wanted it because she is teething but she is actually drinking all of the water gone and not playing with it. If she keeps it up we might have to think about starting her on milk.

Have a great night!
