Funny Hair

I got a little stitching time in today. :) I am not overly fond of how her hair has turned out. What do you think? I do giggle a bit each time I look at it because right now (I think) it looks like the girl is giving somebody "the bird".

I have been thinking about starting a new pattern. It is a typical me design.....snowmen! Problem is with my stitching time being less than it was I don't know if it would be a good idea to have too many things being stitched at once. Right now I have my SAL with Renee, QS Fairy Tales, Moonlight's Visit, and ornaments for Christmas. I guess I will have to think some more on it but don't be surprised if there is a new start soon!

Have a great night!

Every Little Stitch Counts

I guess it is safe to say now that Megan is on the move I won't be stitching as much as I have in the past. I have been working on QS Fairy Tales from HAED for the past week when I have been able to sneak off for 15 minutes or so. I am posting the before and after picture mainly for myself to remind me that every little stitch counts. :)

Here she was when I picked her up last Wednesday....

Here is where I am now.....

Happy Stitching!

Stitching Withdrawals

If you just read my blog for cross stitching you might as well stop right now and go to another one because I have nothing to show off today. It is extremely frustrating as it is Summer Break.....I should have more stitching time! I am not saying that I have not stitched at all but it has only been about 15 minutes here and there. I know something is better than nothing but stitching is such a stress reliever for me that I swear I am actually having withdrawals from not getting to stitch as much!

Zero Stitching

It hasn't been my week for stitching. I haven't stitched any since my last post! I didn't get to stitch yesterday as it was our 16th wedding anniversary. We didn't get to do exactly what we had planned but we still had a pretty good day. We did a little shopping and went out to eat with NO kids in tow! It was so wonderful to sit and eat a meal with my husband at the same time. We do sit down at the same time and eat with the kids but one of us is usually feeding Megan so inevitably one of is always the last done.

While we were out we stopped at Hobby Lobby and wouldn't you know I forgot to pick up a 4 inch hoop so I can finish Goodluck Baby! I did pick up some eavenweave fabric so today I kitted up some future projects. A couple of the pieces I want to do require me to do some fabrics so maybe next time I go to Hobby Lobby I might actually remember to get my hoop while also remembering to get some fabric dye.

I didn't get to stitch today because Megan is learning to crawl. She isn't up on all fours yet but I bet before next weekend she will be! Right now she gets herslef up on her hands and in a frog like postion and then she literally flops forward looking like a frog leaping. She looks so funny leaping around but she moves pretty quick! I am so NOT ready for her to be mobile!!

Happy Stitching!

Quiet Tuesday

It was a pretty quiet day around here today so I was able to sneak in some stitching time on Moonlight's Visit.

Have a great night!:)

Small Start on Moonlight

Today is my normal SAL day with Renee but we decided to skip it this week as Renee has a test tomorrow. So, if your reading this Renee....get back to studying! LOL I worked on Moonlight's visit for a bit today. I quickly realized I really need to get the Kreiniks ordered for this one soon as the dragon is most stitched with blends of Kreinik and DMC.

The biggest plus about this design is most of the back stitching is done in one color! That makes it a lot easier to back stitch as I go along instead of waiting until the end.

I want to thank everyone for their sweet comments about Megan. She went swimming again today but she had a surprise visitor. Mom mom's dog, Cleo, jumped in the pool and was trying to catch the water as Megan splashed around. Megan loved it! She laughed so hard she fell over and then proceeded to laugh even harder. She is such a goof ball.:)

Have a great night!

First Time Swimming

Our weekend was semi busy so I didn't get much stitching done. That seems to be happening more and more lately.:( I did manage to start Moonlight's Visit but I only stitched on it for about 45 minutes before it was time to start cooking dinner. I will work on it some more tomorrow. (hopefully!!)

Today was Megan's first time in her pool.:) At first, she really wasn't thrilled about it till Allie sat in the pool with her. I just love these expressions I caught on her face today!

It's late so I had better go find my pillow because in a few hours that cute little girl will be up and ready to start a new day.

3 Days of Stitching

It was a rainy day today which made me happy because that meant I could curl up in a chair and stitch on QS Fairy Tales. Here is where I started on Wednesday.....

And after 3 days of stitching here is where she is now....:)

Here is Megan in her new swimsuit. You wouldn't believe how hard I had to work to get that smile! I swear she see the camera and instantly she refuses to smile. Also you might notice she is sitting all by herself.:) She just started sitting up by herself this week without support. She is still wobbly and topples over occasionally but each day I notice she can sit a little longer before she takes a nose dive into the floor.

I hope everyone has a great weekend!

Teenagers and Shopping

It has been a crazy week for me so I haven't had much time to stitch. I did work on QS Fairy Tales for a little while yesterday. I even made some (visible) progress but it was too late last night to take a picture. I am hoping to work on her some more tonight so maybe I will have a progress picture tomorrow.

Today was swim suit shopping day for all 4 kids. Mac and Megan were pretty easy to please but Krissy and Allie just plain gave me a headache. Actually it was more frustrating on their part than mine because I wasn't giving in to any skimpy swim suits. I simply reminded them that if they couldn't find something appropriate today that their dad would be taking them shopping for one.....and believe me he thinks they should be clothed from the tops of their necks to their toes! Needless to say the both of them eventually found something that we agree on. :)

My mom has been sick this week and finally went to the doctor yesterday. We are still waiting on some tests but we did hear from the doctor today that all her blood work came back fine. Which was good but then it also means we don't have an answer why she has lost so much weight. Hopefully we will know more tomorrow as the doctor said the other test results should arrive in the morning.

That pretty much sums it up for me tonight. I hope everyone is having a great evening!

Goodluck Baby

I suspected last night that I wasn't going to get any stitching done today. I was right. :( The first part of the morning was spent cleaning and laundry and pretty much the rest of the morning was spent being a referee amongst the 3 older kids. Then this afternoon was spent over at my uncle's house attempting to help him with some things on his computer. Seriously, that man should not be allowed to own a computer! I helped him as much as I could and told him he would have to wait on the rest till Mike came home and could help him.

The closest I came to stitching today was taking this progress picture of Goodluck Baby. She still looks a little alienish but she is starting to resemble a babybug.

Megan is still a little cranky. She is teething and if she is anything like her brother and sisters she won't actually cut the first one until her first birthday. Which means months of teething and a lot of long nights for me! I asked the doctor once if it was normal for them to be a year old with no teeth. He told me that the longer that it takes for the teeth to come in the more stronger and healthier the teeth will be. I'm not sure if it is a fact or not but it seems to hold true with my kids.

When it comes to teething I feel horrible for the child. To me there is nothing worse than tooth/gum pain, well, maybe an earache but nothing else! To think Mike laughed at me when I found some teething rings on clearance for 50 cents and I bought 8 of them.......well, he isn't laughing now.:P

I am off to read some more blogs. I am still behind and desperately trying to get caught up. Have a wonderful night!

Not My Day

I should have known the day wasn't going to go well for me when I sat down to stitch on Too Cute this morning. I pulled out the fabric and grabbed my 4 inch hoop and proceeded to put the hoop on the fabric. As I was tightening my hoop I suddenly felt the nut spin fast. Crap! The nut was stripped and of course I don't have a spare 4 inch hoop. I did have a 5 inch hoop so all was not lost for the day. So I settled in and got ready to stitch and then when I was looking/admiring I saw a mistake. Ugghhh!! It was only off by 1 stitch but I could see it so it had to come out. So I fixed that and then I noticed I back stitched it in the wrong color! After saying some colorful adjectives I ripped out all the back stitching I had done and fixed it, too. I did manage to get about an hour of peaceful stitching before it was time to put her away for another week. :)

Of course, since I use a 4 inch hoop when I stitch ornament this means I can't work on the babybug until I get a new one. Ugghh. I don't know if I will start the new design tomorrow or not. I should work on QS Fairy Tales but my eyes could use a break from over one stitching. I'll decide tomorrow that is if I get some stitching time.

Have a great evening!

Moonlight Visit

I know the suspense of what exactly my next new big piece is killing Chiloe so I will be nice and let you see what I have awaiting me. :) This pattern is from Sandra Parlow and is called Moonlight Visit. I am not sure how fast this one will stitch up as I still have to buy a couple of Kreiniks and a package of beads.

I know Sundays are my usual SAL day with Renee but we have had to switch to Mondays so no pictures of Too Cute to Spook until tomorrow. :)

I did get to work for a couple of hours on Megan's ornament. The babybug is sitting in grass and flowers and I am debating on if I should stitch them or not. I am not fond of stitching grass and since I am stitching this over 1 I am really not wanting to stitch it at all. Oh well, I still have time to decide I haven't even finished her flesh!

Have a great night!

Megan's Ornament

I had a semi productive stitching day yesterday. I decided the fabric I have will work for my next big piece so I cut the amount (I have a yard of it!) I will need and sewed the edges. It is all ready to go. However, I decided to start on an ornament instead.:)

This one is a freebie from EMS. This odd looking form will eventually turn into a cute babybug...a ladybug with a baby face. When all finished this one will be Megan's ornament for the Christmas tree.

Today is turning out to be a pretty darn good day. The errands are done and the kids are being content which means I can watch some NCIS and stitch for a bit. I hope everyone is having a greet weekend!

Stash Diving

I didn't get a lot of stitching done today but I did manage to finish the personalization on the backs for 2 ornaments. I'm not sure when I will actually get to the finishing part because I still have room on the fabric for another ornament but I already have the next ornament picked out and ready to stitch. :)

I did do a little stash diving tonight and I think I might have found something to stitch. I think I have the fabric for it. I'm going to pull out the floss tomorrow and see how the colors look against the fabric in the daylight. Keep your fingers crossed as it is a neat design!

I am still behind in reading blogs and commenting. I am hoping to find some time tomorrow to try and get caught up.

Have a great night!

Thanks

I want to thank everyone for their comments on Bumble Fairy.:) Thank You!! She was a really fun design to stitch...well maybe not so much the grass.

I didn't get any stitching done yesterday. I did manage to work on finishing some of the ornaments today. I got all the squares stitched and now I am just doing the personalization on the backs of them. I will probably work on them some more tomorrow.

Some of you have asked what is next on my stitching table. I am not sure yet. I have a couple of projects kitted up and ready to go but they don't seem to be calling me. Actually, what I need to do is some stash re-organization and then maybe something will start screaming at me.

That pretty much sums it up for me tonight. I hope everyone has a great night! :)

No Good Title

I haven't been very good at posting or commenting in the past week or so but honestly I have been in somewhat of a sour mood lately. I don't know why either and that is what irks me the most.

Yesterday was my SAL with Renee on Too Cute to Spook. :) I didn't get quite as much done as I wanted but I already knew that would probably happen. Most of the afternoon was spent over at my uncle's house. We had a nice lunch and talked for a couple of hours. The kids were amazingly on their best behavior! When that happens I always wonder what are they up to or what do they want. Of course, as soon as we got in the van to leave they started bickering. I knew it was too good to last!

Today I am planning on working on Bumble Fairy. She is really close to being finished. All I have left to stitch is the grass and caterpillar. I am moving slow on the grass. I just don't really care for stitching a bunch of greens. The funny part is green is my favorite color.
That pretty much sums it up for me today. I hope everyone had a wonderful weekend!

Better Day

Today was definitely better than yesterday! I still feel like crap but the headache is gone and my nose isn't running like a faucet just more like a slow drip.

Since my head wasn't pounding I was able to get some stitching done.:) This one isn't a big piece so I should be finishing it rather quickly. It is roughly 8 inches by 8 inches on 32 count fabric.

Megan has finally associated Ma-Ma with me! When she wakes up in the morning I bring her in to lay down with me so more or less I can wake up fully. A lot of times she just ends up falling back to sleep or 30 minutes or so but not this morning. She was wide awake when I got her out of her crib and I knew she would not lay down for long. She was pretty content to lay there and coo at her feet or so I thought. The next thing I knew she was smacking me in my face saying "Ma-Ma" every time she smacked me. Let's just say I was fully awake at this point. Megan then looked up at me and reached out with her arms and then said "Ma-Ma". :)

I haven't said a lot exactly about the kids' summer plans because things are still in the planning stage. Krissy and Allie both have friends back in Arkansas that they want to spend some time with this summer. So far they have spent their vacation with some swimming, going to the zoo, walking on the trail, and sleepovers. Typical kid stuff.

Enjoy your evening!
