Boy or Girl?

As you know, this morning I had my ultrasound so I started off my day by drinking lots of water. Lucky for me (and my bladder!) they were running on time so I didn't have to wait long before they started the ultrasound. First she checked my bladder and things to make sure they looked fine. Then she moved onto the baby...

Tech: How's 2?

Me: What?

Tech: 2.

Me: Two what?

Tech: Two babies.

Me: WHAT!!!!!!!!! ARE YOU SERIOUS???

Tech: Yes.

Me: OMG!!

Yep, you read right, I am having twins!!! After the initial shock wore off, I asked about the sexes of the babies. A girl and another girl. Twin girls! They were able to tell me that they are fraternal twins and not identical twins. According to the measurements taken today my due date is still November 15 (my birthday!) and I am right at 19.3 weeks along.

I have to admit the news of twins is quite exciting and scary, too! All I can keep thinking is....I have to get 2 of EVERYTHING! Like....now I got to make another afghan, quilt, and Christmas stockings!! LOL....what have I got myself into?!

Not only is today a good day because of finding out about twins but because Mike and I are celebrating our 15th wedding anniversary. :)

I am sorry if this post is quite scatterbrained but.....well that is how I feel right now! LOL I hope everyone is having a wonderful night!:)

WOW!!! Twins...wow! How exciting! Congrats on the double dose of PINK!

I think there must be something in the water lately...you're the 3rd person I know that's been pregnant with twins lately. I'm just thankful the twinning substance wasn't in the water when I was pregnant with my Little Tot back in 2006. ;-)

Any news on the bedrest front?

What an amazing and exciting news !!! 5 kids !!! Waow! Me I'll be like: do we need a new car? Do I have enough space in my home, etc ... Seems like your son is going to be the only dude around the ladies ;-)

How come they didn't see it before? Usually at the blood test, the results show the mom is probably expecting twins. From what I know as you get older you increase your chances of having twins. It's going great fot the babies to be 2 as your other children are older .

By the way, are you in bed rest for the rest of your pregnancy?

Happy anniversary !!!

Wow, what exciting news. No wonder you're feeling a bit scattered, that's a lot to adjust to from prior plans. Good luck with the bedrest they've ordered, that would be so hard with having family to take care of. Sounds like with needing two of things like baby blankets and samplers you'll have projects to keep you busy while resting.

Your earlier post of Mine was looking wonderful, great progress. Congratulations on your anniversary as well. What an exciting day.

Happy Anniversary and Happy TWINS! Sounds like a story that I lived through too...although somewhere in between "two what?" through in a "WHAAAATTT??" from my husband!

Take it easy Dawn - seriously...this makes you an automatic "high risk" pregnancy...and I was in the hospital in labor from week 29 until they came at week 34. I always wondered if I would have sat down instead of running all around working like a worker bee if I would have lasted longer.....
