Mac had a great check up with the doctor yesterday! :D Let me tell you that ranks higher than any happy dance I have ever had. I was a bit concerned as 2 nights before Mac had some drainage and ear pain from the ear that had the surgery. I gave him some medicine and sent him back to bed (it was 4 AM when he woke me up). It turned out that it was ear wax drainage. Ughh...I was so hoping the surgery would help that but I guess not. Anyways, the doctor cleaned out the wax and peered into his ear proclaiming it looked great. In fact, it has healed up so nicely that Mac can now get his head wet! Yay!! That means he can take a shower and wash his hair all by himself and I don't have to do it! :)
We also discussed Mac' next surgery. Mac has to go back in to the office in October to have a hearing test and then we will schedule the next surgery. Dr. L is hoping to be able to combine the next 2 surgeries into one. Not only are they going back in and removing the parts of the Cholesteatoma that grew back but he is hoping to be able to replace the stapes bone at the same time. That means Mac would be able to hear out of his left ear. :)
I want to thank everyone for their comments on the start of the baby quilt. Yes, I do sew fast but that is because I have been sewing since I was 8 or 9 with a sewing machine and before that I was taught to hand sew. Sewing is the craft my mom taught me. :) When I was little my mom used to sew me dresses and clothes for my dolls. I have to say some of my fondest memories have clothes she made for the family in it.
I haven't decided if I am going to tie down the quilt or if I will sew it down. My main concern is attaching the binding correctly! I have been doing some research on it and in theory I understand how to do it. I'm just not sure if it will pass from my brain to my hands!
As for my afghan, I am 2/3 done with now. I did have to frog out one row about 3 times but believe me ripping out stitches in crochet is a lot easier than ripping out in cross stitch!
I hope everyone has a great weekend!

I'm glad Mac is doing so well. I guess that means he'll be able to swim this summer too.
I can't imagine a summer without swimming.
