More Finishes

I stitched this small fob up quickly. I have stitched this one many times.....it's just so fun and quick to do.:) I whip stitched the fob together but instead of using poly-fill to fill it I used some rice. The rice gave it just enough weight so now when I lay it on an arm of a chair it doesn't fall off. I wouldn't use rice to fill a larger fob as it probably would be too much weight .

Kindness is the Greatest Gift

Krissy and Mac started their new schools today. Mac seems to like his class and all Krissy could say was there was only 3 cute boys in the whole entire school but she did say it wasn't as bad as she thought it would be. I give her a week and I bet there are more than just 3 cute guys in the school!
Today Megan turned 6 months old! I swear it was just a few days ago we brought her home. In those 6 months she has grown over 9 inches and gained 12 pounds. We were extremely blessed because she hasn't had any problems arise from being born so early. I wanted to post a picture of her today but she still wasn't feeling the best and wasn't being very photogenic today. She isn't running a fever but she is being clingy. If you have to walk away from her she gets upset and starts crying which in turn causes her to throw up. Nice chain reaction.
As you probably guessed no stitching for me today but I did pull out my stitching notebook and make a list of goodies I need to see if I can find at the LNS. I am hoping to be able to venture out that way sometime tomorrow. I'm not going to hold my breath because I might just decide to stay indoors and stitch instead. :)
Have a great weekend & Happy Stitching to All!

Fob Finishes

Where did the day go? I spent most of it in the Principal's office signing tons of paperwork for Mac and Krissy to be enrolled in school. I ended up with writer's cramp but it was worth it. All three will be going to school tomorrow....whoo-hoo!

Allie did start her classes today. Apparently she had a pretty good day because she asked me to drop her off a few minutes early so she could talk with some of her new classmates. I am very relieved it went well for her. I just hope Krissy and Mac's day tomorrow goes as smoothly for them.

Here are a designs from Lizzie*Kate that I whipped up into fobs. Both are stitched one over one....I have been on an over one kick lately.

I still didn't get to my needle tonight. *sigh* At some point I know this craziness will settle down but can't it happen quicker? Megan starting not feeling well around 6 pm tonight. She woke up from a nap cranky and that is not her normal thing. She kept insisting she was hungry even though I knew she wasn't. Even the magic "Mama Blankie" wasn't soothing her so I gave in and let her have a small bottle. It came right back up.....all over me. She finally calmed down for a little bit and then I heard the problem...grunting. I gave her a few minutes to finish her job and went to change and to my horror she blew out the diaper and her clothes. It was one you didn't mess around with trying to change with wipes. She went straight into the tub which didn't make her happy at all. However, she does like it when I put her lotion on so she managed to get into a better mood. She is sleeping contently right now so hopefully she won't wake up cranky in the morning.

Speaking of cranky, that is what I will be tomorrow if I don't head off to bed soon. I hope everyone had a wonderful day and Happy Stitching to all. :)

Progress Pictures & A Gift

Thank you for all of your comments on my last post. :) I know it was a little surprise to find out that we had moved (again!) but we had been thinking about it for a long time. Originally we moved to Arkansas to be closer to Mike's family but as I predicted his family snubbed us after Mike's mom passed away. It became quite clear after the loss of Morgan and Megan's arrival that nobody gave a crap about us because even after telling them the news they NEVER bothered to call, email, or even attempt to stop by and see Megan. They also weren't concerned about Mac and his surgeries even after he had a seizure on the operating table. After that I/we decided that we would rather be around family that actually cared about us. As far as I am concerned it is their loss and not mine. Believe me, I won't lose sleep over it.

As I promised here are some more WIP's that I am working on. This one is Fairy Roses by Mirabilia. I am at a stopping point on this one as I need to buy the Kreiniks and beads. I have found a couple of new LNS here in Omaha but I haven't had the time to go and see what they have.
I also started Fairy Tales from Heaven and Earth Designs. This one is a freebie located here. I am stitching this with 2 threads over 1 on 25 count fabric. So far it has been pretty pleasant to stitch.

Now, this next picture, is a gift to Megan from Shel. I don't know who loves it more Megan or me! I think it is a beautiful pillow and Megan is totally fascinated with the design. She also sent Megan a couple of outfits and some onesis which were so cute. I can't thank you enough, Shel!! Thank you! :)

I still didn't get to pick up my needle today as I spent most of it trying to get the kids enrolled in school. Allie gets to start class tomorrow but it looks like Krissy and Mac won't start till Friday. I am ready for them to start now...lol. Actually they have been wonderful with the move. They haven't complained too much. :) That doesn't mean that they haven't complained. Remember the girls are teenagers! LOL
Well, it is time for Megan's bath....a chore she isn't exactly too fond of yet. I hope everyone has a wonderful evening.
Happy Stitching!

Moving Chaos

I am sorry for my absence from the blogging but things have been beyond crazy for me. The main cause of the craziness is we moved to Nebraska. My family is here so this is a very positive move for us. My mom didn't get to enjoy the older three kids when they were little but now she gets to enjoy being around teenagers and a baby.

Even with all the chaos I did still manage to do some stitching. :) These finishes were done before the move. I haven't touched a needle in almost 3 weeks but at least I have located my stitching stuff so hopefully I can get to stitching soon.

Quilt for Allie

I have some more finishes and some WIP's to show but I will save that for another post.

I can't end this post without a picture of Megan. She is doing extremely great! She weighed in at 14 pounds 11 ounces and 24 inches long.

I'm sorry to make this so short but it's late and I am exhausted plus I know I have a full day of running around and unpacking things.

Have a great night everyone!!

I'm Still Alive

Hello everyone!! Time flies even when your aren't having fun. As of right now, Mac is back on for surgery this Tuesday. I am keeping my fingers and toes crossed that everything goes smoothly for him.

Megan is doing fine. She had a check up today and her Synagis shot (RSV shot) so she is a tad cranky. Dr. A upped her belly medicine because she is starting to have problems with her throwing up again. Otherwise, Megan is doing wonderful.....much better than the doctors thought she would be doing. :)

Allie made it to her 14th birthday this week.....jeez just typing that makes me feel ancient!

Krissy made the track team so they have been practicing after school everyday. She comes home totally exhausted but she seems to really enjoy it so far.

As for me.....I am doing pretty good. I occasionally have a bad day when I think about Megan's sister. I don't know if I had posted this or not but the baby that passed we did give her a name....her name is Morgan Elaine.

I have to admit I haven't done much stitching since the start of the New Year. I have been working on a little on Summer's Magic SAL with Renee. I just have a little backstitching to do and then I will be done. :)

The little princess is starting to fuss...can't say I blame her either...so I will end this with I hope everyone has a great day and try to stay warm!!

I know I haven't posted anything in a long time but I have been up to my ears in diapers, bottles, Dr appointments, and not to mention the upcoming holiday season!!

Megan is still doing great. At her 2 month check up (it was actually a week late...12/2) she weighed in at 8 pounds and 20 1/2 inches long! Yep, she belongs to our family....she loves to eat. LOL Although what she does eat usually comes back up because she has acid reflux. Dr. A. has put her on medicine 3 times a day and changed her formula. The combination has seemed to help some but she still has a couple of bad eruptions (like Mt. St. Helen's!!) a day. Other than that she is really a good baby. She really doesn't fuss much....at least without reason like immunization shots.

Mac is still waiting to have his ear surgery. He was supposed to have it done back in November but a "tiny" problem arose. Mac had a seizure when they went to put him under anesthesia! He was telling me not to freak out but at the same time I wasn't allowed to see him for a few hours so they could make sure he wasn't going to have another seizure. So the surgery was put on hold till Mac could see a neurologist and have an EEG done. Well, the EEG came back fine and the neurologist has cleared Mac for surgery once he has a MRI done (that is on Monday). I am a little nervous about the MRI because they might have to sedate him if he can't lay still for it. They told me to plan on being there at least 4 hours...sigh....more waiting.

Allie got invited to join the junior honor society for her school. Last quarter she made straight A's and so far this quarter she is doing the same. She currently has a major obsession with the Jonas Brothers. Anything that can be covered with a poster has one of them staring back at you! (you can not see her bedroom walls!)

Krissy is all about drama! LOL...what can I expect from a 15 year old girl in high school? You could not pay me enough to be 15 and in high school again! Her grades are good, a little down from last year but nothing to worry about.

I hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving. We had a wonderful Thanksgiving. Renee came to visit that week and we had a blast talking and stitching. We didn't get as much stitched this visit compared to other visits. We were too busy playing with Megan. :)

I have noticed that Megan won't really let me work on anything too big so I have been stitching up lots of ornaments. That actually works out for me because I was behind on my Christmas stitching. However, I did start Fairy Roses by Nora Corbett while Renee was here but I haven't gotten enough done for a picture yet.

Here are my finishes while I have been absent from blogging. :)

Renee's mom was sweet enough to send Megan a box of clothes and at the bottom of the box was this beautiful quilt.

Renee made this cute ornament for Megan. :)

I love them both!!

I hope I didn't bore you to death! :) Have a great night!

A Little Stitching

I want to thank everyone for their wonderful comments on Megan. :) My stitching time has been severely limited lately. Now I remember why I didn't get a lot accomplished stitching wise when Krissy, Allie, and Mac were little! LOL

I finally added Megan's name to her stocking.

Last month I did finally put in the final stitches on for Topaz Fairie, now I just have to get to the beading!
I have been in the mood for making Christmas ornies....

Last but not least, I did manage to finish Megan's birth sampler. :)

I know lately all I seem to be talking about is Megan but the other kids are keeping me just as busy as she is! The main thing right now is Mac goes in on Nov 18 for his next ear surgery. This time they will be working on both of his ears. :( Dr. L is putting an implant is his left ear so hopefully his hearing will improve. Mac is still having problems at school because of his hearing and it seems like his teachers don't want to acknowledge it. They tell me that he shows no signs of hearing loss but when I take him in for a hearing exam it shows that he can't hear a lot of things. Grrrr!! Mac seems to be looking forward to the surgery this time. I think it is only because he knows he gets out of school for 5-7 days.
I hate making these posts short and quick but that is all that Megan will allow me to do. :)
Have a great day!!

Overload of Pictures

First of all, I need to apologize for being so quiet about Megan but everything was going so well at the NICU that I was scared if I posted any good news I would jinx her and she would have a set back. However, she is at home with us and continues to do wonderful. She is a little piggy and weighs 4 pounds 13 ounces now. :)

Introducing......

Megan Renee made her appearance into the world yesterday at 1:09 PM weighing 3 pounds even and measuring 15 1/2 inches long. She is tiny but awfully cute in my opinion. :D

She is doing fantastic so far! She didn't have to be put on a ventilator and is only using a little bit of oxygen at this time.

Megan did have to be transferred to another hospital that is better equipped to handle preemies so I haven't gotten to see much of her other than right after birth. Hopefully I will be released soon and I can go and and see my beautiful little girl soon.

I would like to thank each and everyone for all their prayers and support during these past few months. I can't express how much it really means to me!!! Thank you so very much for caring about Megan!
I could go on for hours about Megan but the painkillers have kicked in and my thoughts are starting to get a little cloudy...okay a lot cloudy....lol. I just want to say Thank You!!
Have a super wonderful day!!!

Not So Good News

Now for the non-stitching news.....I had another ultrasound done yesterday to measure the Little One's growth and no big surprise that she is still measuring small for her age. She is measuring in the 12th percentile where as the Dr would like to see her at about 50th percentile. She weighs just about 3 pounds 5 ounces....not close to the 4 pounds as the Dr was hoping she weighed.

After the ultrasound I was ushered into another room to be hooked up to the fetal monitor. Then the nurse says Dr S (Dr. H was in surgery at the hospital) will be in shortly to speak with you about the ultrasound. I got a knot the size of Texas in my stomach. I just knew he wasn't going to have good news for us. I was right, the news wasn't good. Apparently the blood flow in the cord is not doing good. Every time her little heart beats the blood flow temporarily stops which isn't good. So I was given a shot of steroids to help mature her lungs and then I was sent home until Dr. S could confer with Dr. H to see how to proceed from this point. A few hours later I get a phone call from Dr. H telling me to grab my suitcase and head to the hospital to be admitted.

After I got hooked up to the fetal monitor Dr. H came in and spoke to us about the situation. It will be better for the Little One to be delivered as soon as possible. Dr. H did want to get one more round of steroid shots in before delivery so it looks like tomorrow morning we will finally get to meet her. On one hand I am terribly excited to meet her but on the other hand I have a knot the size of Texas worrying that something will go wrong. *sigh* The next 24 hours will go by extremely slow!

Dr. H is pretty confident that she will do fine once she it out of the womb. I will be 33 weeks along so hopefully she will only have to spend a couple of weeks to a month in the NICU. At least I have been down this road before so I kind of know what to expect.

I will post more as I know more. Plus I am kind of tired right now...you know how much those nurses actually let you sleep when your supposed to!

More Finishes

Like I said, I have been busy on my stitching stuff the past few weeks.:) Here is Pumpkin Pete finished into a flatfold.

And I finally did something with Spring Kitty Paw! I used a wooden box and painted it purple for a little gift type box. I ended up having to put an extra coat of paint on the box so I wasn't exactly happy with how the color turned out but it's not really that bad.

Lastly, here is my progress on my SAL with Renee.

2 WIPS Finished

Oh I have so much to share today! First of all let's get the stitching pictures out of the way. :) As you remember I was working on the Little One's stocking and I finished it all but the name.

I just LOVE how it turned out! I am sure it will even look better once we have a name for the top of the stocking. LOL

Here is the other beauty I finished. :)

I have to confess the magnolia flowers are simply stunning to me.

We Are Fine

I hope everyone is doing fine! I want to thank everyone for their concerns on me being absent. I am doing just fine or the best I can at 32 1/2 weeks pregnant! LOL As for the pregnancy everything seems to be going fine. The little one is still measuring small for her age but the doctor thinks that it is just genetics. As of last week, Dr. H guesstimates that she weighs close to 4 pounds. I don't think she is quite that big but I would be thrilled if she is. I am now seeing Dr. H once a week until she is born. It is hard to believe that in a little over 5 weeks she will be here! I am so excited to meet her!

As for stitching, I have actually gotten a lot accomplished the past few weeks! I have finished Winter Fun on Ice stocking (all but the name) AND last night I finished Unicorn! I officially only have one WIP left to finish...Topaz Fairie. I have been working on what I can on her wings but that won't last much longer. I guess that means a new start for me in the next few days. :)

I'm sorry this is such a short post but I wanted to let everyone know the Little One and I are doing just fine. We are just taking it easy till the big day. :)

Happy Stitching to all!

Getting Closer

Here's today's progress on the little one's stocking. :) I am about 2/3 done with it!

I just want to let everyone know that I might not be posting much over the next couple of days. There isn't anything wrong just some things that require my attention more than blogging right now.

Until next time....Happy stitching!

2 Finishes in One Day

I had a pretty productive day today. :) This morning I finished Veronica's 12 Days of Christmas RR. I stitched the 11 Pipers Piping square. I think it turned out pretty cute.

I even was able to make a quick floss run and get all but one color I needed. Of course, that one color (DMC 3860) is the one I need for Topaz! They weren't just out of it either, there was no slot for it at all! At least I got the Kreiniks for Unicorn so I can work on that one and Winter Fun this week.

Since I had the floss I needed to finish Pumpkin Pete I decided to go ahead and just do that. I really love this design! I will be stitching it's companion piece called Stanley sometime soon. It has a snowman design so I think I will wait till the weather starts turning just a tad bit cooler.

Have a great night!
