A Couple of Finishes

I'm sorry for the lack of posts lately but every time I sit down to blog my mind goes blank. Main reason for that is right now it seems like my cross stitching is non existent. I did have a small finish last week.

I had planned on having a finishing weekend but we were busier than I thought so I only ended up finishing one ornament. I still have 7 more to go to finish into ornaments! I finished the stitching on this one last year sometime.

Topaz Weekend Progress

As I mentioned in yesterday's post I did work a little bit on Topaz Fairie this past weekend. I filled in the rest of her arm and worked on the other wing. While I was stitching I did find an error in the opposite wing so now I have to frog the whole wing. I am not looking forward to that so I am putting it off as long as possible!

Also, I did get a chance to finish Joyeux Noel into an ornament. I didn't have anything Christmasy looking to match so I opted for a matching pink. For some reason I can't get a really good picture of Joyeux Noel. The linen is actually a smoky blue color and is really pretty but for some reason it looks grey and dull. I am going to blame it on the rain we have been having.

I am not sure if I will get any stitching done today as I have to clear out a spot in the living room for the Christmas Tree. We have an artificial tree due to our allergies so I also have to dig it out of the storage area. I have been putting it off because this will be Claudia's and Bitsy's first Christmas tree and I am not ready for them to bat at the ornaments or climb the tree.
Enjoy your day!

Joyeux Noel

It has been a cold, wet and dreary day here today. Rain in December...something is just wrong with that! So, what is a girl supposed to do on a day like this? Why, cross stitch of course! :) I worked on Topaz Fairie a bit more this weekend but I didn't feel like pulling her out today so I opted for a quick finish. I stitched Joyeux Noel by The Cat Whisker's Designs out of the 2007 JCS issue. I am planning on finishing this one into an ornament later tonight.

I hope everyone is having a wonderful day!

Woodland Faerie Progress :)

There seems to be a little confusion in my last 2 finishes. They are 2 different patterns from the same designer, Blue Ribbon Designs. One is in the 2007 JCS Ornament issue and the other is a freebie from their website.

Today I worked on Woodland Faerie some more. That hole is getting smaller but there is still the backstitching left! I am thinking about focusing on this one until I finish it. In the grand scale of things I really don't have all that much left but what I have done has taken me almost 2 years.

In between breaks while working on WF I will be working on small pieces for exchanges and Christmas. I'm not sure what my next ornament will be yet. I will probably look through the magazine tonight and find something to stitch.

A Wish for Hope and Peace

Whew! What a day I had. It started off going grocery shopping followed by at least 5 loads of laundry. In between loads of laundry I managed to put the final stitches in Hope and Peace. This is such a sweet design.

I am planning on finishing this one into an ornament. I already have the fabric picked out. It has holly berries and leaves all over it. I am not sure when I am going to actually get around to finishing it. I have so many things I want to work on and finish but I need more hands!

I hope everyone is enjoying their weekend:)

Hope and Peace

I have been working on the Blue Ribbon Designs ornament for the 2007 JCS for the past few days. I haven't had any problems with this one other than the one over one stitching. I wasn't thinking when I grabbed some 32 count fabric. Normally, when I stitch one over one I use 28 count fabric. The throbbing in my head reminded me quickly why I don't stitch one over one on 32 count!

Have a good night!
