A New Start

I admit it, I have no will power! I ended up starting a new piece on Wednesday. This one is called Pumpkin Pete from The Trilogy. I'm stitching it using DMC floss but quickly came to the realization that this design really does need to be stitched with the overdyed floss.

Tomorrow I officially turn 29 weeks pregnant which means for the next week I will be a complete wreck. When I had Mac at 29 weeks it was touch and go for the first few days but he was a fighter and 8 weeks later he got to come home from the NICU. While I know that the little one would be able to survive with medical help if she were to arrive now, I just hope she isn't as impatient to greet the world as Mac was at 29 weeks.

Everything seems to be going smooth right now. The little one's kicks are just little nudges anymore. They are full force kicks and blows! She actually woke me up the other night with a kick so hard that made me jump, which of course, scared Mike awake. The medicine I am taking for acid reflux has seemed to help quite a bit. Although, I am still dealing with morning sickness. :( It has calmed down just a little and the worst is for the first hour after I get up in the mornings. It is a good thing we have 2 bathrooms otherwise the kids would be late getting to school!

We don't have any major plans for this Labor Day weekend. I'm sure that is bound to change once the kids get home!

Have a great weekend!

3 Wings Finished

I kept my word and worked some more on Topaz Fairie yesterday. There were a couple of times I was ready to toss it back in my stitching bag and forget about her. The colors in her wings are drab looking which doesn't get my stitching mojo flowing. I did manage to finish the 2nd and 3rd wings....only one more to go!

I am not sure what I am going to stitch on today. I want to start something new but the practical side of me knows I need to try and get my other WIP's finished before the little one arrives. I also really need to start on my Christmas stitching for family/friends. I have been so focused on the little one's arrival that I completely spaced out how quickly Christmas is approaching.

Happy Stitching!

Emerging Wings

I decided to meet my goal for this month and pull out Topaz Fairie and work on her for a bit. You really can't see it but there is some back stitching progress on the lower wing. I am planning on working on her for a bit more today.

Mac did the cutest thing this morning when he left for school. As he was on his way out the door to get on the bus he said his normal good-byes to Mike and me and then he popped off...."Bye Little Sister"....Ahhhh.....he is such a sweet boy at times!

Initially, I was worried about Mac being jealous of the little one once she arrived but in the last few months I have decided that it isn't HIM that will be jealous. The jealous one is going to be my soon to be 15 year old daughter, Krissy! Krissy was not pleased to find out that her little sister might be born sometime in October. The reason (Krissy says) is because October is her birthday month and she doesn't want to share it. Hopefully, once the little one is here and "real" to Krissy, she will change her mind. :)

Have a great day!

Summer's Magic SAL

I haven't worked on Summer's Magic for the past week or two so I was quite happy to pick it up yesterday and work on it. I mainly just did the back stitching but it still counts as progress. :)

SBQ of the Week

I'm done with the flowers at least for now. :) Who would have thought my favorite flower (magnolias) would be such a pain in the rump to stitch?!

This week's (8/21) SBQ is:

If you had to choose, would you rather spend money on over dyed floss or hand-dyed fabric?

My answer to this one is easy....hand dyed-fabric (to be exact opalescent fabrics..lol). I generally just stitch with DMC. With that being said I do have to admit I will buy over dyed floss for small projects (usually monochromatic designs) but it is usually a visibly variegated color. I love the look of variegated designs!

This made me realize that when I stitch a piece it is usually floss or fabric and not both. Hmmm....could it be the scrooge in me? lol

Enjoy your day!

Quiet Day

It was a pretty quiet day around here yesterday so I stitched my little heart out until the kids got home from school.:) I even worked on this one some more in the evening so hopefully later today I will have another progress picture.

Have a great weekend!

Trick or Kitty Treat Hanging

I actually got something accomplished today! I started out just rearranging my stash when I stumbled across this pre made wall hanging I received from Joanie last year. I just slipped in Trick or Kitty Treat and I was finished. :) I really love how it looks!

Have a great night!

Another Good Check Up

My appointment with Dr. H went great yesterday! We actually have somewhat of an idea of how we are going to approach this delivery. I have to admit I was really hoping to be able to delivery naturally but that isn't going to happen. :( I'm going to have a C-section. I had one with Mac but I was given general anesthesia so I wasn't awake during the procedure. However, this time (unless an emergency) I will be given a spinal block. This absolutely terrifies me!! There is something about the idea of a needle being near my spine that doesn't sit well with me.

If everything keeps going well and there is no problems the little one will be arriving here around October 25. A Halloween baby.:) That is only 10 weeks to go!

As for stitching, well, I haven't done any this week. I am hoping now that the flood of doctor's appointments are over with (for at least 2 weeks) that I can settle down and get some stitching done.

Little Stitching

I don't have much to show from the past few days, mainly because I haven't felt the best. I have been working on Winter Fun on Ice here and there when I have felt up to it.

As you know yesterday I had an appointment with a specialist and it went great. First of all, when I was referred to see Dr. T I had a sneaky suspicion that he was the same doctor that I saw with Mac's pregnancy. I wasn't exactly positive since the doctor that we saw with Mac was in Springfield, Missouri and this one was in Joplin, Missouri. You can not imagine how relieved I was to find out today that it was him. Basically, I knew he wouldn't try and hide anything from me. He is a honest doctor but not in a way that makes you feel bad.

At first, it was a nurse who did the scan but then Dr. T came in and finished it up and got all the information he needed. I was quite relieved to see the little one moving around and sucking on her fingers. :) So cute! As of today she weighs about 1 pound 12 ounces and 157 beats per minute. She is doing great! No signs of fetal distress or growth problems. :D

Tomorrow I have another doctor's appointment with Dr. H. This appointment should be a routine check up. I have to drink that nasty glucose drink (again) and have my blood tested for gestational diabetes. Dr. H said he would be shocked if I turned out to be since I have only gained a total of 8 pounds so far.

Yesterday was also the kids first day back to school. I didn't even have to wake any of them up to get ready.....even Mac! I still can't believe that it was Krissy's first day of high school (grade 9). I swear just yesterday it was her first day of kindergarten! She lucked out and gets to attend a brand new high school here so she is just as lost in finding her classes as the older kids. :) Allie is in junior high (grade 8) this year but she also is going to a different school so she got lost a couple of times. Mac (grade 5) is the only one who is back at the same school this year so he had no problems at all.

Since the kids are back in school that might mean I can actually get some quality stitching time to myself. :)

Happy Stitching!

Trick or Kitty Treat

It's been a pretty quiet day so far but that will change in a little while. Mac and Allie have orientation at their schools tonight. Krissy's is tomorrow night. Monday is their first day of school. Normally, I am jumping thru hoops to get them off to school so I can have some "me" time but not this year. That same day I have my appointment in Joplin Missouri with the specialist. That means 90 minutes of driving there and 90 minutes driving back. Yuck.

Yesterday, I decided to work on another little Halloween ornament out of the JCS issue. :) I stitched up Trick or Kitty Treat by Brittercup Designs. I stitched it 1/1 with DMC threads. Again, here is another one that will be placed in the WTF pile. (I had to laugh at some comments on WTF pile.....I thought the same thing the first time I saw it, too! LOL)

I'm not sure what I will work on tonight. I might just pull out a WIP and actually work on it! The only thing I know for sure is Mike promised to make homemade pizza tonight. YUM!!! :)

Have a great evening!

Fall Squared

I started this Snippet from Lizzie*Kate called Fall Squared last night and finished the final stitches this morning. This was a very soothing piece to stitch but then again I love Fall! I can't decide how to finish this one right now so I will put it in the WTF pile. Although, I don't foresee it to sit there long as I already have the "perfect" fabric to finish it. I just have to decide how to finish it. :)

I had my doctor's appointment today and the little one had a good strong heartbeat. :) However, there is still some concerns about the whole situation so I have an appointment on Monday with a perinatalologist.
Happy Stitching!

Batty Jack

This weekend I got my hands on a copy of the JCS Halloween ornament issue and I decided I had to stitch this cute little pumpkin from Just Nan.

I want to thank everyone for their continued words of kindness and prayers. Right now I am trying to keep focused on keeping the little one snug and comfy for as long as I can. Tomorrow afternoon I have a check up with Dr. H and hopefully this time it will be ALL good reports!

Well, this week has definately been a rollar coaster ride I wish to never ride again! I have been keeping my hands busy with working on Winter Fun on Ice.

I hope everyone has a wonderful weekend!

Winter Chair Finished

Before the backstitching......

And after the backstitching....

I want to thank EVERYONE for their kind thoughts and prayers this week. I'm not feeling too chatty right now so my next few posts will probably be a few words and progress pictures.

The Loss of One

I went to today's ultrasound feeling pretty good but I left completely devastated. The tech got me situated and within a few minutes she jumped up and left the room. This seemed strange to me but I didn't think much of it. The tech came back with Dr. H and chatted with me as the tech started the ultrasound again. The first one we looked at was Baby A and she is growing great and roughly weighs 1 lb 9 oz.

Then we moved onto Baby B. At this time, Dr. H sits down next to me and has to tell me that Baby B has no heartbeat. I had to have them prove it to me on the ultrasound. She apparently hadn't grown much since the last ultrasound (6/24) and measured considerably smaller than Baby A. However, at my last visit (7/28) we do know she had heart beat so it happened sometime between then and now.

Since I am not having contractions and Baby A is not under any stress we will just continue with bed rest and weekly visits to see Dr. H. At the first sign of Baby A not growing or under stress she will be delivered.

All this news has left me completely numb! I still am trying to process all this information so I may not be posting much over the upcoming days.

Hot Weather

I hope the weather has been cooler for you than it has been here this weekend. It has been yucky hot to the point even the dog doesn't want to go out and play. Now, that is bad! LOL

Anyways, with it being hot the kids and I just hung out around the house this weekend. I worked on Winter Chair for a bit on Saturday but then Winter Fun on Ice started calling me so I ended up working on it. :)

Today was Summer's Magic SAL with Renee and I am happy to say the baby dragon now has a head. :)

Tomorrow I have an appointment for an ultrasound. It is just to make sure the babies are growing fine. I am hoping this time the girls are cooperative and we can get some good pictures of them. At the last ultrasound they were kicking each other so much that the pictures didn't turn out very well. I just hope they aren't giving me a glimpse of what they have in store for me when they arrive! :)

Have a great night!
